Abhainn Ri Cottages are located on a truly remarkable elevated site, with the most exquisite view of the Kings River "Abhainn Ri", Blessington Lakes and Wicklow Mountains. This very unique location is situated on 100 acres of farmland in one of Wicklows finest areas of outstanding natural beauty. Yet only one hour to Dublin city, airport or ferry ports. Abhainn Ri are 4* Failte Ireland (Irish Tourist Board) approved cottages.
A wonderful unspoilt rural retreat if you love country life, enjoy passive walks or simply wish to awake to the relaxing dawn chorus of birds chirping. Along with sheep & lambs the land has lots of native animals such as rabbits, hares, foxes, deers and an abundance of lovely birds. Our latest guests the Swallows have arrived on holidays and have taken residence at our second cottage and the tiny additions to the family can be seen and heard daily. An ideal location for holidays, short breaks, special occasions, family or group bookings.
The name Abhainn Ri "Kings River" was given to the cottages because the river originally ran through the land until the Blessington Lake was created during the late 1930's.
Health and Well-being are guaranteed in this wonderful unspoilt location. At Abhainn Ri we have our very own water supply of clear sparkling water it is only the purest taken directly from its natural source. "Ballintober" the Irish place name - land with wells.
